Thompson Lexus was recently honored with the prestigious Elite of Lexus Award for 2009. This special award is reserved for dealers who excel at everything they do and is the highest distinction a Lexus dealer can receive.

This is the 14th year we've reached this distinction, more than any other dealer in our District. Elite of Lexus dealers are chosen based on customer feedback from surveys rating owner satisfaction, sales and service. Dealers must also exceed rigorous Lexus operational and certification standards.

Our Lexus dealership opened its doors in 1989 as one of the premier Lexus dealerships in the country. With over 2 decades of experience, we continue surpassing expectations in sales, service and overall owner support. Lexus Committed to the Future - Responsible Manufacturing and the HS 250h

From the onset, the 2010 Lexus HS250h was developed as the world's first dedicated luxury hybrid, breaking boundaries in green innovation. Lexus continually strives to develop environmentally friendly technology and the company's commitment goes even further - all the way to responsible manufacturing.

Recyclability: Lexus designs vehicles with a careful eye on how they will one day be disposed. Over 85% of the HS 250h is recyclable, including both its hybrid and conventional accessory batteries.

Plant-derived Materials: Over 30% of the HS 250's interior and trunk plastics are made from plant-derived materials.  Kenaf, a highly sustainable grass plant similar to bamboo, is used inside the doors, seatbacks and rear parcel shelf.  The seat foam of the HS is produced using oil derived from castor seeds. These innovations contribute to a 33% reduction in harmful CO2 over the life cycle of the HS 250h.

Reusing Vehicle Waste: When seat cushions, floor mats and roof liners are made, the leftover pieces are used as sound insulation in the doors, roof, floor and chassis. Any extra waste is burned in an incinerator with 85% thermal efficiency.  This process generates electricity and steam which help power the manufacturing process.

Reducing Energy and Water Usage: Lexus has already reduced their consumption by 27% over the past 10 years and plan on reducing energy consumption of U.S. facilities by 18% by 2011 when compared to 2001.

Zero Landfill Status:  Every Lexus manufacturing site maintains near zero-landfill status, meaning that 98% of manufacturing waste is recycled, repurposed or used to generate additional energy. Even more impressive, the U.S. sales headquarters campus for Lexus has achieved zero-landfill status.

Lexus LFA Supercar Steals the Spotlight in Tokyo

At the Tokyo Motor Show, Lexus revealed the LFA supercar - a sleek, high-performance car that Toyota boasts will be the most powerful it has ever produced. The LFA combines high output chassis design and meticulous aerodynamics, producing high-rev, seamless acceleration. With its tremendously angular cutaways and vents, the supercar has a premium science fiction look. There's also race-bred engineering to its construction - much of the chassis and body is made of lightweight carbon-bier reinforced polymer, the suspension components are made of lightweight aluminum alloy and the brakes are carbon-ceramic material. According to one insider, only 500 vehicles will be built and made to customer specification. Lexus is scheduled to begin production of the LFA at the end of 2010 as the pinnacle of the Lexus "F" premium sports car series.

Jack Thompson Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

On January 26, The American International Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) today honored longtime member and past director John H. (Jack) Thompson of Doylestown, PA with the David F. Mungenast, Sr. Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, named after the late AIADA Chairman and legendary St. Louis-area automobile dealer, was presented during AIADA's 39th Annual Meeting and Luncheon held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

"This year's award winner has claimed the respect of dealers and industry employees in all corners of the country," said AIADA President Cody Lusk. "Jack is remarkable not just for his unwavering commitment to protecting the livelihoods of international auto dealers, but also for his strength as a leader and reputation for generosity."

Thompson was one of the first Toyota dealers in the United States, opening for business in 1969. In 1989 he once again blazed a trail as one of the country's first Lexus dealers. He credits his success, and correspondingly high customer satisfaction and retention scores, to the philosophy that he is not in the car business, but the people business. In 1997 He won the Time Magazine Quality Dealer of the Year award and in 1998 the Sports Illustrated Dealer of Distinction.

Thompson's love of cars extends past the office. Over the years he has accumulated one of the largest vintage car collections in the country, focused primarily on vintage race cars and European models. Jack is a member of the Sport Car Club of America and has served as that organization's chief executive steward. Active in his community, Thompson has also served as a board member of the land preservation group Heritage Conservancy, the title sponsor of the Doylestown Arts Festival, and as a host of the annual Susan G. Komen Drive for the Cure.

Today, Thompson owns and operates three dealerships in Doylestown, PA: Thompson Toyota, Thompson Lexus, and Thompson BMW. He has been a member of AIADA since 1975.
